Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) is one of the biggest internet providers in Pakistan, recently they joined hands with Higher Education Commission (HEC) to distribute free EVO devices to eligible students under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. While the laptops make the computer portable for the students, there’s always the need of internet connectivity to make the experience truly portable. TechJuice sees this as a much needed great step that will solve the issue of internet connectivity on the go.
The agreement was signed at HEC Secretariat on Friday. Anwar Amjad, Director General IT and Muhammad Basharat Qureshi, Executive Vice President Corporate Sales PTCL signed the agreement. Walid Irshad, CEO and President of PTCL and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC were also present at the event.

HEC shall purchase a total of 100,000 devices and make the payment against the device cost to PTCL as per agreement. EVO devices will be delivered to HEC in batches in three months, also they will be given to the designated universities by the PTCL. PTCL would also have the right to block any connection if found to be resold or to be purchasable in open market.
The device shall be activated within 72 hours from the time of request to be sent by the student at Costumer Service Centers. The service shall be activated to the default package, but after one month the device may be continued with default package or would be shifted to any EVO package with 20% discount.
