Google Searches On Malala Drastically Increased In 2014

Malala Yousafzai has been trending on social media and Google searches worldwide this year. When the education activist, Malala delivered a speech at UN last year, the ‘malala yousafzai’ searches surged 7x in October and rose to 29x when she was announced the youngest ever Noble Prize winner.

Malala Yousafzai, 17, is known to have limitless courage because she stood up against Taliban to promote education for girls, she took a bullet to her head and survived. Even this brutal incident did not stop her from speaking up for educational rights of girls. Last year, she addressed the United Nations as part of her campaign to ensure free compulsory education for every child.

This year she was awarded Nobel Prize in order to appreciate her astounding bravery along with Indian activist Kailash Satyarthi. Kailash saved almost 80,000 children from slave labor with his incredible efforts. While addressing at Nobel Prize Ceremony, she challenged her listeners to make a difference in society

“Let us become the first generation that decides to be the last that sees empty classrooms, lost childhoods and wasted potentials.”

This young Pakistani has been a voice to her generation and has impacted the hearts of many around the world.
