Meet the winners of first ever RCCI ICT 2015 Awards

Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized the first RCCI-Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Awards at Islamabad on Wednesday. The main purpose of organizing ICT awards was to highlight the excellent efforts of individuals and companies in their respective fields. The Chief Guest of the event was Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Syed Ismail Shah while President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi, Senior Vice President Mian Humayun Parvez, Chairman RCCI Standing Committee on ICT Raja Omer Iqbal and others were also present. There were 13 awards announced in different categories after the recommendation was made from a group of independent panelists.

Internet Service Provider of the year Award – Wi-Tribe
Excellence in E-Governance – NADRA
Excellence in Telecommunication – Zong

Niaz A. Malik – Chief Corporate Sales Officer (CCSO), Zong after receiving the award said, “Zong is currently the fastest growing network in the country and has always been at the front in terms of taking initiatives and introducing new technologies. This award is a strong source of encouragement for us, and we will remain committed to contributing with excellence to the telecommunication arena for the betterment of the country.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman PTA Syed Ismail Shah encouraged private sector to come forward for the promotion of ICT Industry as there are huge investment opportunities available for both local and foreign investors. Moreover, President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi mentioned thatthe market share of ICT industry is $2.8 billion in Pakistan where the twin cities have 40 percent share of the total business of ICT in the country. He further added that the government is not taking any step to promote the flourishing ICT industry.
