The official football for World Cup 2018 is manufactured in a Pakistani city, Sialkot. Interestingly, the last World Cup’s football, Brazuca was also manufactured in Pakistan.

The match ball for World Cup 2018 has six textured panels that are not stitched but they are glued together Near Field Communication (NFC) chip embedded in it. Let’s see how this technology works:

The NFC technology enables two devices to exchange data. So, you can connect your smartphone with your football and unlock Adidas stuff. Your smartphone will send radio signals to NFC tag in your football and the tag will send information to your phone.

If you have an android phone, you can activate NFC by going to the “settings” and then tapping the “Wireless and networks option.” Now tap the back of the phone on the NFC logo on your Telstar to connect.

If you have iPhone, you need to install a third-party app. You need to search NFC tag and you can choose from numerous apps.

This technology enables you to access exclusive information about the product and Adidas football content. This also offers exclusive competitions and challenges. You can make a video while you are doing these challenges.

Features will also be updated during the World Cup so, you can anticipate something exciting. Since the footballs are manufactured right here in Pakistan. We think it would be easy to get your hands on these balls at an affordable price.

The football is not officially available in Pakistan but the price is estimated to be 17000 PKR.
