The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched Restaurant Invoice Management System to monitor sales first time in Pakistan. The Restaurant Invoice Management system (RIMS) will ensure monitoring of sales in real time. This will not only minimize the human interface but will also bring about transparency in the process of tax collection.

This web-based RIMS aims to facilitate the taxpayers by making efficient use of advanced technology-based solutions to identify the difference between current and potential collection.

Senator Haroon Akhtar who serves as a special assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue, Khurram Khan, the representative from restaurant association and Amir Waheed, president of ICCI were among the notable people who attended the launch event.

By far, RIMS has been installed in more than 80 renowned restaurants in Islamabad. The computer system of these restaurants will be synced with FBR headquarters or Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd (PRAL). FBR will then collect the data for sales invoice in real time.

Some major restaurants in Islamabad where RIMS has been installed include Hang Chen, BBQ Bazar, Cafe Aylanto, Table Talk and 1969 restaurant. RIMS is working on providing their services in other cities as well such as Lahore and Karachi.
