Oppo A71 is the latest addition to the Oppo mid range series. The phone comes in 20,000 price range. Overall the phone is good but there is a major problem. The phone lacks a fingerprint sensor which is found even in low-end phones today. So not having a fingerprint might set the company backward from selling this device. There are much better options like the Xiaomi Redmi 4X and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Oppo A71 has a sleek uni body design. The body is made up of plastic and does not feel premium in hands. It has a 5.2-inch display with 720p resolution only. Volume keys are present on the left and the power button is present on the right side of the phone. The overall design of the phone is below average and you can get much better phones with a better design in this price range.
The one thing Oppo does best is the camera. But even the camera on this device is not great. The back camera is a 13 MP, f/2.2 unit which is just average. There is a 5 MP, f/2.4 camera on the front which is even worse. We are not sure why the company did not keep their tagline “camera-first” in mind while creating this phone. No one is going to pay 20,000 rupees for this phone.
Oppo already struggles in this department so our expectations are not high for this phone as well. The phone has a MediaTek MT6750 chipset with Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The RAM is 3GB and internal storage is 16 GB. The performance is just average. The phone starts to lag when you do some multitasking on it. Even some high-end games lag on this device.
