Social media platforms are doing everything in their power to attract more users to their platforms by rolling out new features and updates every single month. This time one of the biggest video chat service, Skype, has partnered with PayPal to give its users access to send money to anyone and anywhere they want with just a single tap.

Skype said that now users don’t have to switch between video chat service app and a banking app to send the money. Users who are chatting with friends and family using Skype mobile app can just swipe right, tap the send money icon, and yes the transaction is complete, simple isn’t it.

For sending the money to friends, family or any other particular individual you first need to update your Skype mobile app for iOS or Android to the latest version otherwise you will not be able to access the new feature. However, the one who is receiving money can use any version of Skype mobile app, the restriction is only for the sender, not the receiver.

If you are sending the money for the first time, you will be asked to confirm your location. Moreover, if you or the person you are sending money to don’t have a PayPal account, the Skype mobile app will then direct you or the receiver to a new link so that you or the one on the receiving end can easily make a PayPal account.

“Currency exchange is no problem,” the Skype team wrote. “If you’re sending funds from the US, for example, to someone in Europe, you will have the option to send money in Euros.”

It is to be noted here that this feature is initially available in 22 countries which include, US, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, and Canada etc. The company has not yet confirmed when this new feature will be available in Asia. However, at some point in the future it is expected to roll out to Skype users in Pakistan and other Asian countries. Yes, PayPal service is not available to Pakistanis but government is working on bringing PayPal to Pakistan and if it succeeds in doing so then Pakistanis will also be able to enjoy this fast money sending service.

This is not the first time PayPal has collaborated with social platforms to expand its services. Previously it has partnered with Apple, Slack, and Microsoft to give access to users to send money with ease and flexibility.
