Admission:

NUST has its own entry test called NET. There are three NET’s held throughout the year in December, March and June. You can appear in all three of them if you wish to improve your score because the best is considered. The computer-based exam is held in Islamabad only, and if you live in Karachi or Quetta, where the other tests are conducted, you’ll have to give the paper-based NET-3 in June.

Upon announcement of the results, students are given merit positions that show them where they stand. NUST has a very small acceptance rate as compared to others and a merit position in the top 500 ensures admission in any faculty you like. Usually, the top 3500 merit positions are selected for admission, the rest are placed in waiting or rejected.

Fee Structure:

All engineering programs have a semester fee of Rs.73, 000 with an additional Rs. 10, 000 as a security deposit. Students who secure a merit position in the top 100 get a fee waiver for the first semester. NUST offers need-based scholarships as well.
