Microsoft has slowly started rolling out the functionality for linking keyboard and mouse with some of the games on Xbox One.

The much-awaited November update for the Xbox One hit just recently and it has brought with it the much-awaited update of using mouse and keyboard-based controls on certain game titles and for select users. Showing Microsoft’s receptive stance to accepting the standard PC-based inputs for its gaming consoles as well, Microsoft rolled out the feature for Xbox Insider Program users and works for a few games. The feature will slowly be rolled out to the rest of the users as it gets matured.

The ability to add the mouse and keyboard functionality to their games would strictly be at the discretion of the game designers that if they want to incorporate this feature or not. The games which are supposed to work with this functionality include Bomber Crew, Children of Morta, Deep Rock Galactic, Minion Master, Moonlighter, Strange Brigade, Vigor, War Thunder, Warface, Warframe, Wargroove, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, X-Morph Defense and Fortnite.

It must be noted here that there, previously, have existed numerous add-ons which let users interface keyboard and mouse with the ports originally meant for Xbox controllers. It’s only now that Microsoft itself has went on to officially support this feature, adding it to the existing framework. Microsoft unveiled official Xbox One Keyboard and Mouse peripherals last week, stating that the first official products would be rolled out during the Consumer Electronics Show to be held in January 2019.
