Xiaomi has partnered with Zong to launch its smartphones and other products across Pakistan.
The partnership of World’s 4th largest smartphone manufacturer with Pakistan’s 4G network provider will give it access to a wide base of Zong 4G subscribers. This will certainly give a boost to Xiaomi’s business in Pakistan smartphone industry.
Under the agreement, customers will be able to access Xiaomi smartphones and eco products like headphones, adapters, power banks, chargers, Mi VR and other accessories at Zong’s display centers and Customer Service Centers.
Zong will offer special customized packages and internet bundles to the Xiaomi customers.
Xiaomi got approval from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to launch in Pakistan in November 2016. Recently, it has announced a partnership with Smartlink Technologies to officially launch on February 20, 2017. Reportedly, PTA has approved 4 phones for now; Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4.
Zong or China Mobile Pakistan (CMPak), a subsidiary of China Mobile, is a telecom operator in Pakistan that provides a range of 2G, 3G and 4G, prepaid and postpaid, services. It has over 26 million subscribers. Zong envisions to leverage the technological edge of 4G LTE to strengthen the digital ecosystem of Pakistan. Currently, 100 cities have Zong 4G coverage and it plans to invest about $200 million for expansion in over 300 cities soon.
The launch event will be held at Serena Hotel, Islamabad on February 20, 2017.
