Digital advertising screens in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority briefly displayed explicit content after hackers gained access, causing public concern. The incident took place on screens located along Khayaban-e-Ittehad and Abdul Sattar Avenue, which were quickly switched off once authorities were alerted.
Videos of the compromised billboards spread rapidly on social media, prompting immediate action from local officials. To prevent further incidents, several other digital boards across DHA, as well as on Shahrah-e-Faisal and Karsaz Road, were temporarily deactivated.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has opened an investigation into the breach. Officials are collecting technical evidence to identify the hackers and hold them accountable. Authorities emphasized that public safety and quick response were their top priorities during the disruption.
