The much awaited T20 World Cup 2026 will kick off tomorrow, with Pakistan taking on the Netherlands at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement that cricket fans can watch the curtain raiser of the marquee tournament “free of charge.”
“Accordingly, gates No. 5 and 7 of the SSC Grounds will be opened to the public from 9:30 a.m.,” the statement added.
BBC Weather predicts thundery showers in Colombo, with partly cloudy skies in the morning, heavier rain in the afternoon and evening, and temperatures ranging from 32°C daytime to 22°C nighttime.
The Green Shirts will enter the mega event on the back of strong recent performances in the shortest format of the game, including a whitewash of Australia in a three matches T20I series.
Pakistan has been placed in Group A alongside the Netherlands, the United States, arch rivals India, and Namibia, with all their matches scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka.
