In a major step toward strengthening regional academic ties, Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) has officially launched the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor in Dhaka, marking a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. The announcement was made at the Pakistan Higher Education Expo 2025, where the initiative was unveiled as a central highlight of the event.
The corridor aims to expand academic exchange, offer new scholarship opportunities, and connect Bangladeshi students with Pakistan’s top universities. The expo drew a massive public turnout, reflecting growing interest in Pakistan’s higher education and renewed goodwill between the two countries.
The launch ceremony, held in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka, was attended by senior dignitaries, including Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam from Bangladesh’s University Grants Commission and Vice Chancellors from both nations. Chief guest Mr. Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam praised the initiative as “a key step for youth empowerment,” adding that Pakistan’s effort would greatly support Bangladesh’s skills and education development goals.
Representatives from 15 leading Pakistani universities accompanied the HEC delegation, engaging directly with thousands of students, educators, and parents. According to officials, the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Programme—a major attraction of the event remains a core pillar of the newly launched corridor, encouraging Bangladeshi nationals to pursue higher studies in Pakistan.
Speaking at the launch, an HEC official said the corridor “opens a new academic bridge between the two nations, offering pathways for research collaboration, student mobility, and institutional partnerships.”
After the successful Dhaka expo, the delegation will continue its outreach in Chittagong, Rajshahi, and Sylhet to further promote admissions, scholarships, and educational linkages. The initiative is positioned to reshape future academic interaction and strengthen long-term cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
