Honor Reveals Magic8 RSR Porsche Design with Premium Features

Published by

Honor has launched its latest flagship, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design, in China, alongside the Magic8 Pro Air. These new models expand the company’s Magic series, joining last year’s Magic8 and Magic8 Pro, which debuted in October 2025.

The Magic8 RSR Porsche Design continues Honor’s collaboration with Porsche, featuring styling inspired by the brand’s iconic supercars. Its nano-ceramic rear panel offers a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5, making it more scratch-resistant. Honor also claims the device is 10% lighter than its predecessor, while the camera module draws design cues from Porsche’s classic matrix headlights.

The phone comes with a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display, delivering 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. It supports Dolby Vision and high-frequency PWM dimming at 4,320Hz. The display is protected by Giant Rhino Glass for durability.

The Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Buyers can choose configurations with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device runs Android 16 with Magic UI 10.0, offering AI-powered features for daily use.

Photography receives a major upgrade with a 50MP main rear sensor measuring 1/1.3-inch, featuring f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. An ultrawide 50MP camera captures 122-degree shots and macro images, while a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor offers f/2.6, OIS, and 3.7x optical zoom.

Honor highlights the phone’s CIPA 6.5 stabilization rating and introduces the AiMAGE color engine. Users can also attach a 200mm external telephoto lens from Nox. For selfies, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design packs a 50MP front camera in a pill-shaped cutout, paired with a 3D depth sensor for accurate Face Unlock.

The device houses a large 7,200mAh battery with support for 120W wired SuperCharge and 80W wireless charging. Other features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an infrared sensor, and full IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust protection. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. The phone weighs 239 grams and is 8.45mm thick.

The Magic8 RSR Porsche Design comes in Moonstone and Slate Gray. Pricing starts at CNY 7,999 ($1,150) for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, while the top-end 24GB/1TB model is priced at CNY 8,999 ($1,290).
