Islamabad Launches Online Portal for Private School Registration

Published by

The Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA) has introduced a fully online system for the registration and renewal of private educational institutions, marking a major step toward digital governance in the federal capital’s education sector.

Effective February 10, 2026, all private schools in Islamabad must now submit registration and renewal applications exclusively through the new digital portal, as hard-copy submissions have been discontinued.

The reform is part of ICT-PEIRA’s broader IT modernization drive aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery. Authorities say the move will streamline administrative procedures, reduce processing time, and strengthen compliance with regulatory standards across private institutions.

Acting Chairman Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah said the authority is transitioning into a fully digital organization:

“In the first phase, the entire registration and renewal process has been shifted online. In the next phase, compliance monitoring and regulatory processes will also be conducted through the digital portal.”

Officials believe the online system will improve ease of doing business in the private education sector by simplifying documentation and enabling real-time tracking of applications. Future phases will expand the portal to cover inspections, compliance monitoring, and regulatory reporting.

The initiative reflects Islamabad’s broader push toward e-governance and paperless public services, aligning education regulation with modern digital administration standards.
