The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a fresh auction of 40 personalized vehicle registration numbers, offering citizens a chance to secure unique and identity-based number plates, with the bidding scheduled for February 14 in Peshawar.
According to the KP Excise & Taxation Department, the auction will be held at the Qayoom Sports Complex, Peshawar. This new phase includes highly sought-after personalized numbers based on surnames, tribes, regions, and cultural identities. Among the prominent names available are Dawar, Hoti, Shinwari, Waziristan, Mahsud, Jadoon, Marwat, Khattak, Qadri, Pashtun, Sheikh, Khyber, Raja, and Awan.
Officials confirmed that some numbers are single-digit exclusives, while others are being offered in limited quantities, reflecting their popularity and demand among vehicle owners across the province.
Personalized vehicle number plate auctions have gained strong traction in KP over recent years, with previous auctions attracting significant public interest and generating substantial provincial revenue. The initiative allows citizens to express personal, tribal, or regional identity while contributing directly to the provincial exchequer.
An official from the Excise Department stated, “The growing demand for personalized number plates shows public interest, and these auctions help us generate additional revenue in a transparent manner.”
Interested bidders are advised to complete advance registration and strictly follow the KP Excise & Taxation Department’s guidelines to participate in the auction. Authorities expect strong competition, especially for culturally significant and popular names.
