The buying rally at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is continuing strongly today, November 27, 2025. During the opening hours of trading on Thursday, the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained over 1,200 points.

By 11:10 am, the benchmark index reached a level of 164,406.62. This marks an increase of 1,218.09 points, or 0.75%.

Across-the-board buying is visible in key sectors today. Specifically, investors are focusing on automobile assemblers, cement, and commercial banks. Additionally, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refinery sectors show positive trends.

Several index-heavy stocks are trading in the green. These include:

  • Attock Refinery Limited (ARL)
  • Mari Energies Limited (MARI)
  • Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC)
  • Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL)
  • Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL)
  • Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO)
  • Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
  • MCB Bank Limited (MCB)
  • Meezan Bank Limited (MEBL)
  • United Bank Limited (UBL)

This rally follows a strong performance on Wednesday. Yesterday, the PSX closed on a firm note due to institutional buying. The KSE-100 Index surged by 1,496.04 points (0.93%) to close at 163,188.53.

Furthermore, positive economic projections are boosting confidence. Speaking at the Pakistan Business Council’s Dialogue on the Economy 2025, Muhammad Aurangzeb projected 3.5% economic growth for Pakistan this year. He also forecast 4% growth over the next two to three years. Moreover, he noted a potential for 6-7% growth in the medium term, contingent on progress in agriculture, manufacturing, and services.

Globally, Asian stocks rose on Thursday. The dollar remained soft due to growing expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut next month. Meanwhile, the yen remains on intervention watch.

Investors are currently maintaining an upbeat tone. They are shrugging off recent AI bubble worries that impacted equities earlier in November. Notably, US markets are closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday.
