Lahore Police to File FIRs Against One-Wheeling Bikers on Social Media

In a decisive move to curb reckless stunts and promote road safety, the Lahore Traffic Police has announced that it will now register FIRs against individuals involved in one-wheeling, especially those posting videos of the act on social media. The crackdown follows a series of deadly accidents linked to one-wheeling across the city.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Dr. Athar Waheed, stated that the Cyber Patrol Wing is monitoring platforms around the clock to identify offenders and take legal action. He emphasized that glamorizing one-wheeling online will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

“One-wheeling is a game of death it has taken young lives and caused lifelong suffering for families,” said Dr. Waheed, urging parents and educators to counsel youth against such dangerous behavior.

The CTO cited a recent case where an FIR was registered after a viral video showed a boy and girl performing stunts on Lahore’s roads. The operation aligns with the Punjab IG’s zero-tolerance policy against life-threatening road violations.

As part of its awareness efforts, the Traffic Education Wing has launched campaigns in schools and colleges, educating students about the fatal risks of one-wheeling and the legal penalties for those promoting such acts online.

Dr. Waheed also warned content creators that sharing or promoting one-wheeling videos to gain followers could lead to criminal charges. He reiterated the Chief Minister’s vision of making Lahore’s roads safer through constant vigilance and zero tolerance for risky driving behavior.
