Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the best of Sony for this year. The phone comes with all the latest hardware and gives direct competition to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7. The phone is a powerhouse and offers best of everything right now.
Although the name of the phone includes the word “premium” but this word is not true for the phone’s design. The phone has the glass all over design but it does not feel as much “premium” as it should have. The screen is 5.5 inches and there is a lot of bezel on top and bottom of the phone. However, the bezel accommodates the front-facing speakers. The phone is a lot bigger than it should be. The handling of the phone with a single hand is not easy. The phone has a concave power button on the right and there is a dedicated camera button just under it. The camera button is a hard to find feature on smartphones. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the power button. The phone has a 4K resolution which gives it a pixel density of 807 PPI.
The phone comes with the Snapdragon 835 chipset Octa-core (4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo) CPU and Adreno 540 GPU. The latest chipset helps to handle the content on a 4K screen efficiently. The phone runs like butter and you won’t feel the slightest of lag even on heavy multitasking. The animation of the phone is so good that you feel like you are using the speediest version of Android ever.
The phone runs all the games without any problem. The games will not lag even if you have opened a lot of apps in the background. The phone comes with 3,230 mAh battery which might fall short on the 4K display.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium comes with a 19 MP, f/2.0 camera. There is a special feature in the camera which we have seen for the first time and that is the 720p@960fps slo-mo video recording. The slo-mo video is so good that you fall in love with it. The camera takes great photos in both daylight and low light. The slo-mo video, however, works best in the bright daylight only and is a complete mess in low light.
The front has a 13 MP, f/2.0 camera which takes excellent selfies and can record 1080p videos.
