Motorola is preparing for a major launch as teasers hint at a new high-end smartphone arriving on January 6. The company’s Chinese division has already hinted at the X70 Air Pro, and its international account on X has joined the tease, suggesting a global rollout is imminent.
The device, sold in China as the X70 Air, is likely to appear internationally under the Edge 70 name. Early reports indicate that the first phone in Motorola’s upcoming Signature series could be called the Edge 70 Ultra, though the final name remains unconfirmed. This points to the possibility that the X70 Air Pro and the Edge 70 Ultra could actually be the same device.
Leaks suggest the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM. It is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset will reportedly ship with Android 16, offering the latest software experience out of the box.
With these specifications, Motorola seems to be targeting the premium segment, competing with other flagship smartphones in 2026. Fans will likely get a clearer picture when the device officially launches in early January.
