The Punjab government has launched Pakistan’s first AI EcoBot to enhance environmental monitoring and public engagement through artificial intelligence. The innovative digital assistant provides real-time air quality updates and practical tips for protecting against pollution.
According to Environment Protection Department Secretary Sajid Bashir, the AI EcoBot acts as a direct communication bridge between citizens and the department. It enables residents to instantly check the Air Quality Index (AQI) for major cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan, ensuring quick access to accurate environmental data.
Officials explained that the EcoBot uses advanced AI technology to interact with users, offering personalized responses and guidance on reducing exposure to air pollution. It will also share daily lifestyle tips and educational messages to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living.
Bashir emphasized that the launch of Pakistan’s first AI EcoBot reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to address pollution and climate-related challenges. He added that the initiative aligns with Punjab’s broader vision of promoting eco-friendly practices and digital innovation in governance.
“Our goal is to make Punjab cleaner and greener through innovative digital solutions,” Bashir stated, highlighting the province’s continued focus on environmental sustainability and citizen engagement through technology.
