Punjab Revises Syllabus for Grades 1 to 3 to Ease Learning

The Punjab School Education Department has announced a revision of the syllabus for grades one to three, aiming to simplify content and enhance learning for young students. The new curriculum will focus on essential student learning outcomes (SLOs) while removing redundant and unnecessary material that previously overburdened children.

Officials said the updated syllabus will help students grasp key concepts more effectively, improving comprehension and overall quality of early education. The move is part of a broader initiative to make the primary education system more student-friendly and practical.

In parallel, the Punjab Examination Commission for Textbook and Curriculum Authority (PECTA) has released a corrected version of the grade nine smart syllabus, fixing multiple errors across subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Computer Science. Authorities plan to publish the revised grade eleven syllabus next week, continuing the ongoing curriculum improvement efforts.
