The Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department has announced new emission testing fees for vehicles, effective from November 10.
According to the official notification, all vehicle owners will now be required to pay the emission testing fee before undergoing inspection. The department has categorized the charges based on engine capacity, as shown below:
| Engine Capacity | Fee (PKR) |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,000cc | 500 |
| 1,001cc to 1,500cc | 800 |
| 1,501cc to 2,500cc | 1,000 |
| 2,501cc to 4,500cc | 1,500 |
| Above 4,500cc | 2,000 |
Officials said that all payments must be made online through the Punjab e-Pay system. Once the transaction is complete, a confirmation message will be sent to the user’s registered mobile number.
Furthermore, motorists have been advised to bring their CNIC when visiting testing centers for emission checks. The department aims to streamline the process and ensure better compliance with environmental standards across the province.
