The Punjab government has decided to acquire 25 new VIP security vehicles to strengthen protection measures for high profile individuals across the province, according to reports. City 42 reported that the new fleet will cost more than Rs270 million.
The vehicles being purchased include Toyota Hilux Revo G, Rocco, and 4×2 variants, with prices ranging from Rs7 million to Rs15 million depending on the configuration. Each unit will come fitted with bar lights and special fabrication to fulfill operational requirements, and the VIP security vehicles will be handed over to the Punjab Police and the Special Branch.
Earlier this year, the provincial government also cleared a separate plan to procure five jammer equipped vehicles for VVIP movement and security support. Official documents show that Rs467.2 million had been allocated for two imported Land Cruisers and three Land Cruiser Prados, with tenders issued after receiving cabinet approval.
