Punjab University Introduces QR Code-Based Fee Payment System

Published by

University of the Punjab has become the first public sector university in Pakistan to introduce QR code-based fee payments after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JS Bank. The agreement will digitize university fee challans through Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR system.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, where PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and senior officials from JS Bank formalized the partnership.

Under the agreement, the university will implement Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR solution, enabling students to pay tuition and other dues digitally via mobile banking applications. The system offers real-time payment processing, reducing the need for manual challan handling and minimizing delays.

University officials stated that the new mechanism will enhance transparency and improve financial efficiency while providing a faster and more secure payment experience.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to adopting modern technologies to streamline administrative processes. He noted that digitizing fee challans will make payments more convenient for students and parents, reduce long queues at banks, and support PU’s broader vision of a cashless, paperless campus.

JS Bank representatives described Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR as a secure, State Bank-compliant digital payment solution that facilitates instant interbank transfers. They expressed confidence that the collaboration will strengthen the university’s digital infrastructure and promote financial inclusion.
