Vivo’s Upcoming S50 Series Packs Flagship Features

Vivo is reportedly preparing to unveil its upcoming S50 lineup, bypassing the S40 series due to the Chinese superstition surrounding the number four. The new smartphones will follow the S30 and S30 Pro Mini, which debuted earlier in May.

According to recent leaks, the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini will bring notable design tweaks and upgraded hardware. The S50 Pro Mini will retain its 6.31-inch display, while the S50 will feature a slightly smaller 6.59-inch screen compared to the S30’s 6.67-inch panel. Both devices will offer a “1.5K” resolution with flat screens, aiming to balance clarity and efficiency.

The S50 is said to feature a metal frame and a flagship-grade periscope telephoto camera. Meanwhile, the S50 Pro Mini is expected to come equipped with all-around “flagship hardware,” although specific details remain limited for now.

Earlier reports suggest that the S50 Pro Mini will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset. It will also feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and a triple rear camera setup, including a periscope telephoto lens.

Vivo is likely to introduce the S50 series in China next month. Once launched, the phones are expected to compete directly with Oppo’s Reno15 lineup and the Honor 500 series.
