Woofy: A Pakistani App That Aims to to Save Animal Abuse Victims

Published by

Pakistani app makers have taken a significant step in animal welfare with the launch of its first dedicated animal rescue mobile app called Woofy. The app is now publicly available on both iOS and Android platforms following an official launch event. With a seamless design, Woofy aims to streamline how citizens report and respond to cases involving injured, abandoned or abused animals, improving response times and coordination among rescuers and care providers.

The app is developed by Yair Salman, Zubair Naeem and Talha Naeem.

The app lets users quickly register a case by selecting from categories such as Injured, Abused or Abandoned, then uploading a photo, adding the animal’s location and contact information, and including optional notes with more details. These structured reports help ensure rescuers receive complete and accurate information before deploying aid.

There are two separate user profiles and dashboards, i.e., one for those reporting cases and another for rescuers, enabling real-time tracking of active reports and rescue progress. This dual-dashboard design aims to remove friction from communication, avoid duplicate reports, and give volunteers and professionals a clearer picture of where help is needed most.

Once a case is reported, anyone using the app can jump in to help with the rescue. Woofy has teamed up with vets and clinics to make it super easy for rescuers to find nearby facilities, including those that offer discounts. Plus, Woofy is planning to roll out transportation services specifically for animal rescue soon, with vehicles designed to take you and your furry friend to local vets.

Currently available in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the app’s team has outlined future plans to expand into additional cities. By giving Pakistanis a simple digital tool to act on compassion and report animal welfare cases quickly, Woofy represents a new model in which technology and community action intersect to address long-standing gaps in animal care infrastructure.

You can download the app from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
