Now, the ‘Hitman’ studio is rewarding players. They just teased a brand-new 007: First Light DLC, completely for free.

The recent teaser trailer showed a sweeping cinematic shot. It featured an idyllic forest lake backed by a massive mountain range. However, IO Interactive kept the exact gameplay details hidden. They did not confirm if the update includes new story content. Fortunately, players will not wait long. The studio will release full details tomorrow, on October 1. Meanwhile, rumors are already swirling. Previous leaks suggest this free content focuses heavily on driving. Furthermore, it might specifically feature the “Aston Martin Valhalla”.

While current players celebrate, Nintendo fans face bad news. IO Interactive confirmed a massive delay for the Switch 2 version. Originally, the game targeted a Q3 2026 release. Now, the developers pushed it back to March 2027. The studio made this difficult decision to fully optimize the game for Nintendo’s new hardware. As a result, fans are actively voicing their frustration. Furthermore, players are demanding a proper physical Switch 2 cartridge or disc release. They outright reject the console’s standard game key cards.
Past Updates & Sequel Prospects
This upcoming drop is not the first major update for the game. Back in July, the developers released the “Behind Enemy Lines” update. That package added new TacSim missions, fresh weapons, and a new TacSim outfit for Bond. Additionally, a New Game+ mode will arrive later this year. However, IO Interactive has not detailed how this mode will actually work.
Looking ahead, fans are already wondering about a sequel. IO Interactive has not officially confirmed a follow-up yet. Still, Amazon Gaming executive Jeff Gattis recently praised the current game. He called the developers “great partners”. Moreover, Gattis directly stated that “it seems like a sequel should be made”.
