12,500 School Teacher Intern Appointment Letters Put on Hold

The appointment letters for 12,500 School Teacher Interns (STIs) in Punjab have been put on hold once again, as the School Education Department has opened the window for objections against the final merit list. Candidates can submit their objections at the offices of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in their respective districts until December 22.

Earlier, the STI contracts were scheduled to begin on December 1. However, the objection process has now created the possibility of further delays in issuing appointment letters. The department has directed that all objections be resolved by December 22 to move forward with the hiring process.

“The appointment process will resume after all objections are addressed. We aim to ensure a fair and transparent process for all candidates,” the School Education Department said.

This delay highlights ongoing challenges in the teacher recruitment process in Punjab, affecting thousands of aspiring educators waiting to begin their teaching internships.
