The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Department of Education suspended 17 teachers for 120 days today. Authorities suspect these individuals leaked the matric exam multiple-choice questions (MCQs) during the ongoing examinations.
These teachers worked as invigilators and supervisory staff across examination halls in Peshawar and Charsadda. Following preliminary allegations of a matric exam MCQs leak, the Chairman of BISE Peshawar took immediate action. He implemented directives from the KP government to ensure a completely transparent examination system. Consequently, the board launched an official inquiry against the suspended staff to protect the sanctity of the exams.
If found guilty, the accused teachers face strict disciplinary action. This punishment includes the possible termination of their service. Board officials stressed that they will never compromise the future of students under any circumstances. Furthermore, they declared zero tolerance for any form of malpractice or corruption in the examination process. The Chairman affirmed that efforts to guarantee transparency will continue without any discrimination.
Meanwhile, the board introduced special measures to stop copying and paper leaks during the ongoing exams. Additionally, officials are focusing on providing maximum facilities and a comfortable testing environment for the students. Parents and educationists widely welcomed this suspension. They have long demanded strict action against elements that damage the credibility of public examinations in the province.
