A total of 35 Pakistani universities have secured positions in the latest QS World University Rankings 2026, highlighting the country’s growing footprint in global higher education.
According to the rankings, 31 public and four private universities from Pakistan were included across multiple academic disciplines, reflecting improved performance in education and research.
Top Performers from Pakistan
Among the leading institutions, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) stood out by securing a place in the 201–250 global band for engineering and technology.
The Quaid-i-Azam University also maintained its strong position in natural sciences, ranking within the 201–250 range worldwide.
In business and management studies, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) achieved a notable milestone by placing among the top 101–150 institutions globally.
The University of the Punjab showed consistent performance across multiple disciplines, including business, social sciences, and agriculture.
Meanwhile, the University of Agriculture Faisalabad ranked among the top 200 universities globally in agriculture and forestry.

The inclusion of a significant number of Pakistani universities in the rankings underscores the country’s progress in higher education, research output, and international recognition.
Experts say the improved representation reflects ongoing efforts to enhance academic standards, faculty development, and global collaboration within Pakistan’s education sector.
