Islamabad has taken a major step towards modern, transparent governance as the Deputy Commissioner officially made the E-Stamping system fully operational in the Federal Capital. This move ensures secure, paperless transactions and prevents the manipulation of stamp papers by forgers. Citizens can still use previously issued physical stamp papers until their expiry, but the Federal Treasury has halted the issuance of new ones.
Since its launch, the E-Stamping system has generated 585 challans, with all records digitally compiled and securely stored for easy verification. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this initiative reflects Islamabad’s commitment to fraud-free, efficient public services.
“With E-Stamping now fully functional, citizens can complete their stamp paper transactions with complete confidence and transparency,” the DC stated.
The system aligns with the broader digital governance efforts in Pakistan, similar to initiatives like Green Policing in Lahore, ensuring faster services and reducing opportunities for corruption. Citizens seeking guidance or wishing to report issues can contact the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad at 051-9108084 or reach out through official ICTA social media channels.
