After the licensing of 5G services in Pakistan, mobile networks have begun activating new infrastructure, bringing the country closer to high-speed connectivity. Jazz and Zong have already set up multiple 5G sites, focusing on major cities and key areas in the capital.
According to sources, Jazz has activated 177 5G sites while Zong has brought 150 sites online. In Islamabad, important buildings and areas, including Red Zone, Blue Area, and the Parliament vicinity, now have 5G coverage.
Currently, the 5G network is active on 2,254 devices across 103 brands, but Apple and Samsung have not yet released the required 5G patches for their devices, limiting access for some users.
The rollout marks an important step in Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, aiming to provide faster internet and better connectivity for businesses and everyday users alike. Analysts say that while the network is still limited in reach, the activation of these sites lays a foundation for widespread adoption in the near future.
