Lahore Qalandars have confirmed the last-minute signing of Zimbabwean all-rounder Ryan Burl ahead of their opening Pakistan Super League 2026 clash against Hyderabad Kingsmen.
The franchise announced that Burl completes their squad, bringing it to a full-strength group of 20 players, where he will join fellow Zimbabwean and T20I captain Sikandar Raza.
Ryan Burl is set to make his PSL debut, having earned recognition in tournaments including the Bangladesh Premier League, ILT20, and most recently at the 2026 T20 World Cup.
In the Bangladesh Premier League alone, Burl has scored over 600 runs at a strike rate above 127 while contributing effectively as a bowler for his various franchises.
On the international stage, Burl has featured in more than 100 T20Is for Zimbabwe, accumulating nearly 2,000 runs and taking more than 60 wickets across multiple campaigns.
The 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League marks a new era, with eight teams competing, including new franchises Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz, aiming to expand the tournament’s reach and appeal.
Scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, PSL 11 will feature 44 matches across 39 days, with fans eagerly anticipating competitive encounters between established and emerging teams.
In a major change, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided all matches will be played in Karachi and Lahore behind closed doors, following consultations with stakeholders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the decision was made to ensure logistical efficiency and safety while maintaining the integrity of the tournament amid ongoing operational considerations.
