A video showing Hyderabad Kingsmen batter Saim Ayub practicing in heavy rain before his Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 match has gone viral on social media.
In the short clip, the stylish left-handed batter can be seen focusing on his batting technique while rain pours heavily over the cricket ground in Lahore during a practice session.
The left-handed batter has struggled in the first two games of the season, failing to deliver notable performances for Hyderabad Kingsmen in both matches.
In the opening match against the defending champions Lahore Qalandars, he scored 17 runs off 13 balls, hitting three boundaries, as Kingsmen lost the game by 69 runs.
In the second match against Quetta Gladiators, Ayub scored eight runs off four balls, including two boundaries, as Hyderabad Kingsmen suffered a 40-run defeat in the contest.
Saim Ayub was acquired by Hyderabad Kingsmen for Rs126 million during the PSL auction, making him the second most expensive player in this season’s PSL.
The left-handed hard-hitter has faced criticism over his poor form during the T20 World Cup, where he did not showcase the talent that made him a high-value signing.
Across three PSL seasons, Ayub has represented three teams in 42 matches, scoring 999 runs with an average of 23.78 and a strike rate of 145.62.
He has hit eight half-centuries, 98 boundaries, and 50 sixes in his PSL career, demonstrating his capability as a powerful left-handed batter in the league.
