Karachi Kings secured a five wicket victory over Rawalpindiz after chasing a huge target of 198 in the tenth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eleven.
The kings reached the target with five wickets down and four balls remaining following a 76 run wicket partnership between captain David Warner and Azam Khan.
Warner and Azam Lead Recovery
Karachi Kings lost opener Muhammad Waseem in the third over with 27 runs on the board before Salman Ali Agha and the skipper added stability through a 43 run crucial partnership.
Salman Ali Agha scored 29 runs before his dismissal in the ninth over brought Azam Khan to the crease, where he accelerated the innings alongside Warner effectively then.
The left-handed opener scored 50 from 36 balls before being dismissed in the 16th over by Daryl Mitchell, while Azam attacking and pushed Karachi Kings close to victory.
The wicket-keeper batter top scored with 74 from 34 deliveries including six fours and six sixes before his dismissal by Mohammad Amir in the penultimate over.
Mitchell took three wickets for 32 runs for Rawalpindiz, while Naseem Shah and Mohamamd Amir claimed one each, as Abbas Afridi struck a six to complete the chase.
Rawalpindiz Set Competitive Target
The Mohammad Rizwan-led Rawalpindiz posted 197 for six after recovering from early losses, with the captain dismissed for 21 runs and the team reduced to 55 runs for three.
Daryl Mitchell and Sam Billings added 120 runs crucial partnership for the fourth wicket, both scoring half centuries before Hasan Ali and Mir Hamza removed them late.
Billings scored 58 from 35 balls while Mitchell made 65, and Abdullah Fazal contributed an unbeaten 17 as Hasan Ali finished with three wickets overall.
