Islamabad United fast bowler Mir Hamza Sajjad has rejoined the squad after doctors cleared him from hospital following a head injury sustained during training.
The three-times champions wrote on official social media handle, “Mir Hamza Sajjad rejoins ISLU after clearance from the hospital.*
Hamza was struck on the head during practice at National Stadium Karachi, briefly lost consciousness, and was immediately treated by medical staff before being taken to hospital.
He regained consciousness in the ambulance, remained responsive upon arrival, and underwent CT scans alongside medical assessments before being kept overnight under precautionary observation.
Doctors at Aga Khan Hospital confirmed his condition was stable, declared him fit for discharge, and allowed him to rejoin Islamabad United at the hotel.
Islamabad United suspended training immediately after the incident, with medical staff confirming Hamza’s vital signs remained stable and that he continued responding normally to treatment.
The franchise expressed gratitude for the swift medical response and confirmed Hamza will remain under close monitoring by team doctors throughout the remainder of the tournament.
Islamabad United begin their Karachi leg of the Pakistan Super League with a scheduled fixture against defending champions Lahore Qalandars at National Stadium Karachi.
The three-time PSL champions currently occupy third place on the points table, securing five points from four matches including two victories, one defeat, and one washout.
