Lahore Qalandars, the reigning Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions, will compete in the Global Super League scheduled for July 23 to August 1.
The franchise made the announcement through its official social media channels, confirming participation in the upcoming international T20 tournament.
This will mark the second appearance of the three-times PSL champions at the Global Super League, having featured in the inaugural 2024 edition.
In that first edition, the Lahore-based franchise finished fourth among five competing teams, with Rangpur Riders claiming the title.
Rangpur Riders, representing the Bangladesh Premier League, won the inaugural Global Super League title ahead of the Qalandars.
Franchise owner Sameen Rana confirmed the participation of the team and highlighted the value of thetournament as a global cricketing platform.
Rana stated that the GSL offers the franchise a stage to represent Pakistan and connect with international cricket audiences.
He also said he was eager to feature talent from the franchise’s Player Development Program in this year’s competition.
GSL chairman Clive Lloyd welcomed Lahore Qalandars back, describing them as one of the world’s most dynamic T20 franchises.
Lloyd said the inclusion Lahore Qalandars would raise the standard and raise the overall profile of the Global Super League.
The legendary West Indian cricketer noted that the franchise brings a passionate fan base and a strong track record to the international tournament.
