The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has withdrawn NOC for Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana, ruling both players out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the remainder of 2026.
The withdrawal of Mustafizur follows a knee injury sustained during his PSL stint, which caused him to miss the first two ODIs against New Zealand at home this month.
The BCB confirmed Mustafizur will undergo an immediate scan to assess his knee condition before beginning a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB medical team.
Despite his injury, Mustafizur returned to take a five-wicket haul in the third ODI against New Zealand in Chattogram, his only appearance in the series at home.
Rana’s exclusion from the PSL is due to workload management, as the BCB has rested him alongside Mustafizur and Taskin Ahmed for the first two T20Is against New Zealand.
The BCB announced this decision after the third ODI, confirming that neither player would return to their respective PSL franchises following the home series against New Zealand.
PSL performances
Mustafizur played for Lahore Qalandars, taking six wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 7.17 before returning to Bangladesh for the home ODI series against New Zealand.
Rana represented Peshawar Zalmi, claiming seven wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 5.42, including a four-wicket haul during his time in the tournament this season.
