Multan Sultans owner Gohar Shah has made strong public statements against Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars in a recent podcast interview during PSL 2026.
Shah appeared on The Burger Shop Podcast with just over one week remaining in the PSL 2026 season, where he spoke openly about several league matters.
Allegations of favouritism against Peshawar Zalmi
He stated that the Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi receive too many favourable decisions from officials, a claim he said he also raises in jest with his own squad.
The Multan Sultans owner said he jokes with his team that PSL stands for the Peshawar Super League, given the number of decisions that go in the favour of former champions.
He did not name specific incidents but expressed the view that Peshawar Zalmi consistently benefit from rulings that other franchises, including Multan Sultans, do not receive.
The ball-tampering tweet and Lahore Qalandars row
During the podcast, Gohar Shah addressed a tweet he had posted about a ball-tampering incident involving Lahore Qalandars players earlier in the PSL 2026 season.
The owner stated that after he posted the tweet, the on-field umpire called the Lahore Qalandars player in and officially ruled him out for ball tampering.
Gohar Shah was clear that he had no contact with the umpire and insisted the official made the ball-tampering decision entirely on his own independent judgment.
Shah said he was watching the match as a spectator and tweeted only because he believed the ball was being treated in an unfair way.
He said his tweet led to accusations that he was anti-Pathan and against the three times champions Lahore Qalandars, a response he described as larger than he had expected.
Shah labels Qalandars his ‘enemy number one’
Shah said Lahore Qalandars are his personal enemy number one, adding clearly that he holds no personal grudge against the franchise’s owners or its players.
Gohar Shah stated he has no issue with Lahore Qalandars players, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, or with the franchise owners, whom he does not personally blame.
