The government has reduced the price of jet fuel for commercial airlines by Rs75 per litre, providing fresh cost relief to the aviation sector amid ongoing fuel price adjustments.
According to airport sources, the revised price of aviation fuel has been lowered to Rs396 per litre, marking another significant reduction in operating costs for airlines.
Officials said jet fuel prices have now declined by a cumulative Rs120 per litre over the past three weeks, reflecting a continued downward trend driven by international oil market movements and domestic pricing revisions.
Industry observers say the latest reduction could help airlines lower operating expenses and may support more competitive airfare pricing, although any fare adjustments will depend on decisions by individual carriers.
The weekly revision is part of the government’s fuel pricing mechanism, which adjusts rates in line with changes in global energy markets.
Officials said the revised jet fuel price will remain in effect until the next scheduled weekly review.
