Punjab Education Department has issued a new textbook distribution formula for all government schools ahead of the upcoming academic session across the province.
New textbooks have already been delivered to district and tehsil warehouses throughout Punjab, with instructions to complete distribution before the new session begins.
Class-by-Class Breakdown
Students from Classes One to Three will receive entirely new textbooks, with 100 percent coverage guaranteed for all enrolled pupils across the province.
Students in Classes Four and Five will receive new textbooks at an 80 percent coverage rate, while the remaining students will be provided usable books from book banks.
Students in Classes Six through Nine will receive new textbooks at a 50 percent coverage rate, with book banks covering the remaining enrolled students.
Class Ten students will receive 100 percent new textbooks due to a revised curriculum being introduced for that grade across Punjab schools.
Book Bank System for Remaining Students
Students who do not receive new textbooks will be given usable second-hand books collected from graduating students through the department’s established book bank system.
Schools across Punjab have been formally directed to collect textbooks from outgoing students to build adequate book bank stocks for the upcoming academic session.
Distribution Based on Current Enrolment
The department has stated that textbook distribution in each school will be carried out strictly according to the latest available student enrolment figures.
All relevant officials have been firmly instructed to ensure the transparent distribution of free textbooks so that no student faces any disruption to their education.
