The Punjab School Education Department has officially allowed public and private schools to hold summer camps. Consequently, the department issued a detailed notification on May 29, 2026, outlining strict guidelines to ensure student safety and comfort.
The summer camps will strictly run from June 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026. Schools will operate these curricular activities only between 07:00 am and 10:00 am. Furthermore, classes will only take place from Monday to Thursday. Authorities have declared Friday an official holiday. Additionally, administrations must conduct all activities strictly indoors or within classrooms. The government has permitted these camps for all classes.
Officials clarified that student participation remains entirely optional. Therefore, school administrations must secure parental consent before enrolling any child.
The education department also enforces strict financial regulations. Private schools cannot charge any extra or additional fees for these summer camp activities. Similarly, government schools and teachers cannot demand any tuition fees from the attending students.
To help combat extreme weather conditions, the department exempted all participants from wearing school uniforms. Instead, students will attend in weather-friendly clothing.
School administrations must guarantee the availability of several basic amenities. These essential facilities include general cleanliness, proper sitting arrangements, fans, clean and cold drinking water, and an electricity backup in case of load shedding. Furthermore, schools must keep a first aid box readily available with sufficient necessary supplies.
Punjab’s Education Minister shared this official notification to confirm the prescribed rules. Finally, Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) and school heads must ensure full compliance in true letter and spirit. Authorities will take strict legal action against any institution found violating these official guidelines.
