The provincial government of Sindh has announced the distribution of 275,000 subsidised solar home systems across the province at a total cost of Rs18 billion.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah made the announcement during his budget speech in the Sindh Assembly, introducing a subsidised solar financing programme specifically designed for the middle class.
The programme will distribute 275,000 solar home systems at a total cost of Rs18 billion, targeting households across the province under the new financing scheme.
Murad Ali Shah stated that the government had already provided free solar systems to low-income households across Sindh before introducing the current middle-class programme.
Meanwhile, the government of Sindh has proposed a seven percent increase in employee salaries and a five percent rise in pensions as part of its 2026–27 budget planning measures.
Financial constraints prevented the government from offering a larger pay raise, despite an initial target of at least a 10 percent salary increase for provincial government employees.
