Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Health Engineering Department has launched a new mobile application to provide the public with faster, more transparent access to water-related services, including bill payments, complaint registration and online tracking.
Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan formally inaugurated the app on Tuesday. The launch ceremony was attended by Public Health Engineering Secretary Masood Younis, the additional secretary, chief engineers, the director technical, and other senior officials.
During the event, the minister was briefed on the development, key features and the services of the app it offers to the public. Officials said the application, available in both Urdu and English, allows users to view their water bills and outstanding dues online.
Through the app, users can access information on clean water supply, water supply schemes and ongoing development projects, register complaints, track their status online, and contact relevant departmental offices.
The platform will also enable monitoring of complaint resolution timelines, which officials said would improve departmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Addressing the ceremony, Khan said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is making extensive use of information technology to modernise public service delivery.
He described the new app as a significant step toward digital governance that would make communication between the department and the public more effective, accessible and transparent.
The minister said the vision of the provincial government is to deliver quality services to citizens at their doorstep, adding that the use of modern technology would improve service delivery while ensuring effective monitoring of development projects and transparent use of resources.
He directed officials to keep the application regularly updated, incorporate additional features, and ensure prompt resolution of public complaints to strengthen citizens’ confidence in the system.
Khan also acknowledged the efforts of the departmental team, IT experts and officials involved in developing the app, expressing hope that the initiative would enhance the performance of the department and improve service delivery to the public.
