X has launched a new livestreaming command center for creators. It sits within the platform’s Creator Studio hub. The tool makes it easier to schedule and run live broadcasts in the app.
The updated live composer streamlines the whole launch process. It offers simplified setup on desktop computers. Creators get chat control options and thumbnail uploads too. The aim is a faster, cleaner path to going live.
Once a stream starts, a dashboard tracks performance in real time. It shows creators key audience insights during the broadcast. Those include viewer peaks and comment peaks over time. It also displays audience demographic data.
The package looks polished for desktop-originated streams. However, it carries a clear catch. The studio is only available to users who pay for X Premium or higher. That tier includes access to the platform’s Media Studio.
So creators must pay to use the new tools. For those building an audience on X, it could still add value. X continues to lead on live event engagement, giving it an edge. Quick, easy livestream operation could complement video strategies.
X is also pushing to raise awareness of the tools. It is offering an additional $1 million in creator funding this month. The money specifically targets livestreamers on the platform, as explained by Head of product Nikita Bier, who announced the incentive.
However, the funding details remain unclear. X did not specify how the money will be split. It could be divided among many creators or awarded to one. The company has offered similar large prizes before.
The update lands amid questions about X’s reach. The platform still counts hundreds of millions of users. Yet rival Threads recently passed 500 million users and keeps growing. Threads is also increasingly competing for live event discussion. The tool’s real value will depend on where each creator’s audience sits.
