The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved a 7% increase in the net pension of provincial government pensioners, according to an official notification reported on Thursday.
The revised pension will come into effect from July 1, 2026, providing financial relief to eligible retired government employees across the province.
According to the notification, the 7% increase will be calculated on the net pension being drawn as of June 30, 2026.
The enhanced pension will also be available to provincial government employees who retire on or after July 1, 2026, in accordance with the applicable rules.
The provincial government confirmed that the increase will also apply to:
- Family pension recipients
- Compassionate allowance cases
However, the notification clarified that the revised benefit will not apply to any special additional pension.
The government also stated that pensioners residing abroad will receive the 7% increase, subject to the relevant rules and conditions governing overseas pension payments.
The latest increase is part of the provincial government’s measures to provide financial support to pensioners amid rising living costs.
