The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced scholarship opportunities for Pakistani and other international students at the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) for the 2026 academic intake.
The scholarships include fully funded and partial tuition awards for undergraduate students, along with tuition discounts for eligible master’s applicants, GUtech alumni, and employees of partner organizations.
Undergraduate Scholarships
GUtech is offering 10 Excellence Scholarships covering 100% tuition fees for four years. To qualify, applicants must have secured at least 95% marks in Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
Additionally, 20 Merit Scholarships will cover 50% of tuition fees for students with 90% or above in Grade 12 or its equivalent.
International undergraduate students may also receive scholarships covering up to 20% of tuition fees, while self-funded GUtech students can become eligible for DAAD scholarships worth around 50% of tuition after completing their first academic year.
Master’s Tuition Discounts
GUtech graduates enrolling in eligible master’s programs can receive a 50% tuition fee discount.
Employees of organizations participating in GUtech’s Preferred Partners Programme may receive tuition waivers of up to 30%, increasing to 50% if three or more employees from the same organization enroll in the same intake.
Eligibility Criteria
The Excellence and Merit Scholarships are open to new international students who meet direct admission requirements and are not receiving any other scholarship.
Students awarded the full or 50% scholarship must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 throughout their studies.
English Language Requirement
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: 76
- Duolingo English Test: 110
Candidates must also satisfy the academic requirements of their chosen degree program.
Application Deadline
The deadline to apply for the Undergraduate Excellence, Merit, and International Student Scholarships is September 1, 2026.
Scholarship results are expected to be announced on September 10, 2026.
How to Apply
Applicants must first complete their admission application through GUtech’s online portal and obtain an application number. They are then required to submit four essays of at least 300 words each and complete the relevant scholarship application form available on the university’s scholarship portal.
