The Sindh Cabinet has approved a 7.5 percent increase in the minimum monthly wage for workers, raising the minimum pay for unskilled labourers from Rs40,000 to Rs43,000 with effect from July 1, 2026.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
According to the Chief Minister spokesperson, the revised wage structure also includes increases in minimum wages for semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers.
The spokesperson said the new wage rates will apply to all notified industrial and commercial establishments across Sindh. The measure is aimed at ensuring uniform implementation of the province’s prescribed minimum wage system.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the provincial government remains committed to improving workers’ welfare and strengthening their financial security. He said the government is continuing to implement reforms designed to safeguard the rights and interests of labourers.
In addition to the wage revision, the provincial cabinet approved several other policy decisions related to healthcare, justice and workers’ welfare during the meeting.
