Around 10,000 students failed the subject of Islamiat in the matriculation examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar.
The results showed that Islamiat recorded the highest failure rate among students in both the 9th and 10th grades, making it the most challenging subject for candidates this year.
According to the annual results for 2026 announced by the board, a total of 97,950 students appeared in the 9th grade examinations, of which 57,847 students were promoted to the 10th grade.
The board has yet to release a subject-wise breakdown for the remaining candidates or details of the overall pass percentage across other grades.
